About SuperBay: Bailey was diagnosed with stage III Rhabdomyosarcoma, which is a very aggressive soft muscle tumor in April of 2006 and he relapsed in March of 2007. Bailey handles all of his treatments like a champ and although he has not won the fight yet, he has already beaten all of the odds; he is our little miracle. Bailey still has a very long journey ahead of him, but we are very grateful that we still have him; God has trully blessed us.
Halfway through his first round of treatments, he gave himself the name “SuperBay” and he has lived up to that name, and that is why we decided to name our foundation after our little SuperBay. Remembering these past three years, we have cried a lot but surprisingly we have laughed so much more. Regardless the reason, we are just very happy that we have so many more great memories than bad. Through this journey, we have learned to just simply enjoy life and to live a life of no regrets. We enjoy all 3 of our kids and thank God everyday for all of our blessings.
Bailey one day had a very simple idea, to brighten a “cancer kid’s” day one Band Aid at a time. For many children, they spend a lot of time in the hospital or an outpatient clinic and this can be a very scary and overwhelming thing; however it is the little things that help bring calm and perhaps a smile to child’s face. For Bailey these are “Cute” Band Aids, whether it is a flashy silver one or something equally fun, they make getting poked with a needle or waking up from a procedure less scary. With that being said, one of our goals is to start an annual Band Aid drive where schools, children, businesses and organizations can collect “fun” Band Aids to donate to their local Children’s Hospitals with the idea that they will help brighten the lives of some very heroic children. Please join us and help make our SuperBay’s dream a reality and start your own Band Aid drive to donate to your local Children’s Hospital.
